Breast Cancer Prevention Partners and MyChelle

Think back on your routine this morning—how many personal care products did you use from the time you woke up to the time you walked out the door? From brushing your teeth, to your shower, skin care, and makeup, the number and amount you use really adds up! Every day, the average American uses 12 personal care products and is exposed to as many as 126 unique chemicals from those products.1 The same survey found that 12.2 million adults are exposed to ingredients that are known or probable human carcinogens through their use of these personal care products.

When you decide to make the switch to safer products, the process can be overwhelming; what is considered ‘safe’, and what’s not? One way to take the guesswork out of this process is to find brands you love that also have strict standards for ingredients and transparency. At MyChelle, we have always been champions of ingredient transparency and believe it is the responsibility of the companies creating and distributing skin care, cosmetics, and sunscreens to fully disclose the ingredients that go into their products. We do not use any toxic preservatives, petroleum derivatives, or artificial and unnatural by-products found in other skin care and personal care brands. Our philosophy is to create clean products from ingredients that do not compromise personal health and safety or the wellbeing and conservation of our environment.

That’s why we’ve partnered with Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (BCPP)! BCPP is a science-based advocacy organization that works to prevent breast cancer by eliminating exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation. We support this partnership with a minimum $5,000 annual donation. Keep an eye out for a special Breast Cancer Awareness Month promotion!
