A recent global study conducted by BBMG, GlobeScan, and SustainAbility reveals 8 in 10 consumers (82%) say ingredient transparency is a “very important or important” factor when shopping for products including skin care. Unlike food or drugs, the FDA neither tests nor requires skin care manufacturers to accurately list ingredients used in formulation, challenging safety-conscious shoppers to independently decide which are best for their households and the environment.
At MyChelle, we are committed to full transparency when it comes to the botanicals and high-performance ingredients in our formulas and believe it is the responsibility of the companies creating and distributing skin care, cosmetics, and sunscreens to fully disclose their products’ ingredients.
We are proud to partner with organizations such as The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics coalition, a project of Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (formerly the Breast Cancer Fund), that works to protect the health of consumers, workers and the environment through public education and engagement, corporate accountability and sustainability campaigns and legislative advocacy designed to eliminate dangerous chemicals linked to adverse health impacts from cosmetics and personal care products. The Campaign has educated millions of people about the problem of toxic chemicals in cosmetics, which has led to an increased demand for safer products in the marketplace.
Be sure to keep checking MyChelle.com (as well as our official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages) as we will be announcing a special promotion in collaboration with theThe Campaign for Safe Cosmetics coalition, a project of Breast Cancer Prevention Partners to celebrate this year’s Earth Week, April 17 – April 23.
