On the fourth Thursday of every November, millions of Americans gather in homes and around tables to celebrate Thanksgiving. It’s a holiday about giving thanks for the good things in life, and celebrating family, friends, and connection. In short—it’s about gratitude.
This year, MyChelle Dermaceuticals is thankful for the continued efforts by one of its favorite non-profit organizations, Women’s Bean Project (WBP), to give hope, encouragement, and employment support to women in transition.
WBP employs chronically unemployed and impoverished women through transitional employment and helps them earn the job readiness, interpersonal and life skills to create a new future – for themselves, their families, the community, and our economy. MyChelle is grateful for the opportunity to support the WBP and its beneficiaries, like Emily.
“I am a Mexican/American single mother of five. I love my children unconditionally and I will not give into the street life anymore. I terminated an abusive relationship and needed a better support system. When I started Women’s Bean Project, my mind was in a place full of hurt and confusion. I was torn between where I was in my life and where I wanted to be. I have found a brighter future for myself and am thankful for the opportunity to be employed here so I can be financially stable for me and my five kids. I am grateful to have my voice back.”

Colorado Gives Day is right around the corner, and we couldn’t think of a better day to schedule your donation. This annual statewide movement celebrates and increases philanthropy in Colorado through online giving by increasing the value of every donation proportionally.
We encourage you to give gratefully during this event and support WBP in reaching their goal of $60,000. Doing so directly benefits women like Emily, working to regain their voice and learning to believe in their ability to overcome adversity.
